Why did you choose this profession? My love for animals and my background in business lead me to my current role. I was born in York, PA and raised around many different types of animals. While obtaining my Health Service Administration/Business Degree from Slippery Rock University, I worked at an Arabian Horse Farm owned and operated by a veterinarian. Once I received my degree, I worked as a business manager for several years in the long term health care industry. Six years ago I followed my passion and love for animals and became the business manager for Patton Veterinary Hospital.
Hobbies - Hiking, biking, reading, gardening, and anything outdoors with my pets.

Why did you choose this profession? Fostering kittens / cats for over 15 years lead me to working in an animal shelter where I fostered canines / felines. This included working with several rescue groups that included a boxer rescue and an all breeds rescue. I've always wanted to work for a veterinarian, and after relocating, I found myself at The Patton Veterinary Hospital as their Behavior Coordinator. This was the best move I ever made!
Hobbies - Photography, collecting enamelware and spending time with my critters

Adopted  - February 2007
Number of pets - 2 cats, Bosley and Quentin
Why did you choose this profession? I became an instant animal lover when I rescued 'Bosley' on a cold autumn night. He was only 4 months old, cold, hungry, scared to death, and needed vet care right away. As I took care of him and helped him grow into the healthy 13lb boy that he is today, he taught me about the special friendship that only exists between an animal and their adopted human. Bosley puts a smile on my face everyday and he's my inspiration for wanting to help all the animals I can.

I never would have dreamed that I would love it so much. Animals have always been a part of my life. As a child I've been around many animals from cattle and rabbits to cats and dogs. Now into my adult life, my focus is mainly on cats and dogs. I also had the opportunity to work with horses once and found it very rewarding. Why did you choose this career? The main reason I decided to work at PVH was to help the animals. I began assisting with paperwork and record keeping. I then realized what I really wanted to do was to work with the animal hands on. Since then I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the kennels. I truly love the time I spend at PVH. I am grateful that I work beside co-workers who put their heart and soul into making every animal happy, healthy and safe.

Venus

Adopted - June 2002
SHhhh! Don't tell her that she only has three legs, she doesn't notice! She can pounce and play like any other kitty. And since every hospital should have a three legged cat, (and because she's so adorable), we welcomed her with open arms and open hearts. Venus loves any toy she can get her paws on and is destined to be a lap warmer.

Midnight

Midnight

Adopted - July 2000
He is our senior member here at PVH. Midnight was a rescue case. Although he is a bit more 'lazy' than our other frisky felines. Middy's likes include sitting on the window, watching birds and treats, while his dislikes include getting brushed and getting his ears cleaned. Middy is always available for a therapeutic cuddle.

Tinkerbell

tinkerbell

Adopted - December 2000
Tinkerbell came to us as a stray. And with one look into her mischievous face, we knew she had found a new home with us. And she knew it too! It took no time at all for Tink to step up to the role of trouble-maker here at the hospital. If something is missing, just look her way. Tink likes to relax in any little nook or cranny, including cabinets, sinks and especially her basket!
