FELINE FRIENDLY COMMITTEE

The Feline Friendly Committee is comprised of several PVH staff members who are self-proclaimed “cat people!” As a team, we all like cats and many of us have 1 (or more!) of our own, but these few people are whiskers over tails, crazy in love with cats and want to help make your feline friend’s visit to PVH as enjoyable and comfortable of an experience as possible. The Feline Friendly Committee works together with the rest of the hospital staff to improve feline care and handling and educate clients on the ins and outs of caring for cats throughout all life stages.

Meet Dr. Kevin.

Dr. Kevin rescued his cat, CK, from the SPCA when she was a kitten. She was born without eyelids, leaving one eye non visual. Dr. Kevin performed surgery on the other eyelid to help save the good eye. Dr. Kevin enjoys learning feline behavior which helps provide better cat care at PVH and to improve their lifestyle at home. Dr. Kevin is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Meet Nikkie.

Nikkie has had cats for 15+ years and can’t imagine NOT having a cat to love and cuddle with! She currently has 4 cats – Chad, Bailey, Bubsy and Junior. While she loves all types of cats, she is particularly fond of buff/white and orange/white male cats!

Meet Tabitha.

Tabitha has 4 cats, but she has had as many as 7 cats at one time! Tabitha has a tattoo of her cat, “Taz” who passed away from cancer at four years of age.

Meet Jennifer.

Jennifer is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, owning 7 cats! One of her cats, Brutus, is very adventurous – he has goes outside on a leash, has gone kayaking and even went to have his picture taken with Santa Claus!

Meet Becky.

Much to her husband’s dismay, Becky is a “crazy cat lady” and has always had a special place in her heart for cats. She does own two terriers though to help even it out!
